Part of the rumors you heard about the iPhone 14 series are right, some are wrong. “Yes” on satellites, “no” on iPhone 14 Max. But putting the rumors aside, today’s announcement has a major implication for Apple’s non-Pro phones. First things first, the mini is no more, the 6.1” iPhone 14 is the smallest, cheapest option (but we’ll talk about the price in a moment). The series still has four members with the addition of a 6.7” non-Pro model. Its name is the iPhone 14 Plus. The Plus has the best battery on an iPhone ever, including the iPhone 14 Pro models. You can watch up to 26 hours of video on the Plus, up to 20 hours on the vanilla 14, and 19 hours on the older iPhone 13. The extra size also improved Apple's cooling system to deliver better performance. This is a nice segue into talking about the chipset – it is the Apple A15 from last year. Apple to hold its next event on September 7 at Apple Park

Apple today announced that it is holding its next event on Wednesday, September 7 inside the company's Apple Park campus. The event will start at 10:00 AM PT and will be attended in-person as well as live streamed on the company's website and YouTube. Being the September event, the focus would be on new iPhone models. New for this year is a a plus-sized iPhone 14 Plus/Max with essentially the same dimensions as the iPhone 14 Pro Max but with the feature-set of the iPhone 14. This model will replace the iPhone mini from the lineup. The new iPhones are also expected to get an updated display with the pill-shaped cutout replacing the current notch. While the notch did see a size reduction last year, it continues to be fairly large and possibly the largest on any production phone today.
